Konnaiyur

This inscription is found on the pillar of the centre sluice of the tank called Periyakuḷam located in the Koṉṉaiyūr village. This inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Irumuḍichōḻa Siṅgaḷānti Muttaraiyaṉ alias Tataṅgama Pōḷaṟaṉ during the reign of Kulōttuṅga Chōḻa-I. It is dated to 1106 CE. Inscription: srī / kolō/ ttuṅka/ chōḻa tē/ vaŗkku yā/ ṇḍu 36/ vatu/ koṉ/ ṟai yūrā/ ṉa utta/ ma chōḻa/ purattu/ k kumuḻi/ kuṭukku/ n tiyāki. கொன்னையூர் பெரியக் குளத்தின் மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் கொன்னையூர் கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை இருமடிசோழ சிங்களாந்தி முத்தரையன் (எ) தரங்கம போளறன் அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.12ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்ரீ/ கொலோ/ த்துங்க/ சோழ தே/ வர்க்கு யா/ ண்டு 36/ வது/ கொன்/ றையூரா/ ன உத்த/ ம சோழ/ புரத்து/ க் குமுழி/ குடுக்கு/ ந் தியாகி.
