This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript from Point- pedro, Northern Province, Sri Lanka. It is estimated to be from the period between 1801- 1899. This manuscript addresses practices of magic. It included practices to disarm enemies and create attraction among men and women. It refers to specific deities such as vairavar kantasvāmi ammaṉ kaṇapati. It involves mystical practices to drive away ghosts and spirits and placing spells on persons. There are also chants to enable conceiving a child and protective spells for the living and the dead.
