This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled “Virali viṭu tutu” from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. This manuscript was written by K. Velaapodi from Eechchathivu. It was written in July 1840. This manuscript is related to Literature. ‘Tūtu ilakkiyam’ is commonly known as the literature which contains the messages that are send between lovers. Viṟali (pāṇappeṇ), maṟali are names of goblins. A fairy in jungle fall in love with Nagendiran who is the king of that jungle. She seeks the help of a sage to get success in her love. He created a goblin in the name of Virali to help her. The songs in Virali viṭu tutu describes how the goblin helps the lovers . This manuscript contains love, heroism and comedy.
