This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. The period, author of this manuscript is unknown but it is estimated to be from the period between 1701-1799. Several pages in the beginning are missing from this manuscript. From the remaining pages it is possible to ascertain that this is Irattiṉa cēkaram, an astrological text. Eventhogh the manuscript is partially damaged, the letters are very clear. The main subtitles of this manuscripts are Maṅkalappaṭalam, tēvataippaṭalam,yāttiraippaṭalam and tīviṉaippaṭalam. It contains details related to weekly and monthly horoscopes, auspicious times, diffrent forms of astrological charts usually in the forms of Chakras, astrological practice using the betel leaf etc. It consists of many symbols and images.
