This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled ‘Piḷḷaiyār katai’ from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. A major part of this manuscript is damaged and deteriorated rendering the text illegible, thus it is difficult to determine the exact age, author and place of the original manuscript. However, it is estimated to be from 1901-1999. This manuscript contains the birth of Piḷḷaiyār, his specialities, Tutikaḷ, and Virataṅkaḷ. This manuscript is recited during the twenty-one days of Vinayagar Chaturshi fasting in Pilliyar temples and other temples. It has two songs per page. This manuscript contains 66 pages.
