This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled ‘Maṭṭakkaḷappu māntirīkam’ from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. A major part of this manuscript is severely damaged and deteriorated, rendering the text illegible, thus it is difficult to determine the exact age of the original manuscript. However, it is estimated to be from 1801 – 1899. The author of this manuscript is unknown. This manuscript is about magical practices. It contains mantras such as Taṇṇīr ōtum mantiram, tuvālai iṟaikka mantiram, yāṉai kaṭṭum mantiram, paṉṟikku uṟukkum mantiram, pēykku uṟukkum mantiram. It also contains magical symbols.
