This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled ‘Tirumurukāṟṟu’ from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. The manuscript is severely damaged and deteriorated, rendering the text illegible; thus it is difficult to determine the author and exact age of the manuscript. However, it is estimated to be from 1801-1850. More than thirty pages have symbols and their names. For example, some pages have names such as; Kumāra cakkaram,cuppiramaṇiyaṉ cakkaram,aruṇakiriyar pāṭal cakkaram,varumurukāṟṟu cakkaram,iyalmurukāṟṟu cakkaram,aṉimurukāṟṟu cakkaram. This manuscript has subtitles as Iḷamaimurukāṟṟu,varumurukāṟṟu,porumurukāṟṟu,vēlēntu murukāṟṟu,iyalmurukāṟṟu,aṉimurukāṟṟu,arumurukāṟṟu,arumurukāṟṟu,mantiramurukāṟṟu,tirumurukāṟṟu,tarumurukāṟṟu. It also has mantras of Lord Muruga. The letters are clear to read, and the protective cover is made of metal. Extent: 124.0. Size and dimensions of original material: L 08 cm, W 3.8 cm.
