དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on modern paper. Handwritten in "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. An altruistic mind ceremony, for generating an altruistic mind in the individual, for the benefit of all sentient beings སྤྱི་འདུས་ཀྱི་ལས་བྱང་ཆེན་པོའི་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་ཆེན་པོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ།། སེམས་བསྐྱེད sem kyed...altruistic mind.

Extent: One unbound book consisting of nine folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 51 cm x 9.5 cm.

Condition of original material: Pale, probably faded, ink throughout but still legible.

Custodial history: The older material has been handed down from father to son for at least four generations.

Arrangement: All the material is stored in the prayer room (not seen) and was brought out to be measured and digitised. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question has been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
