A handwritten Tibetan text (pecha) on a combination of different handmade papers. Handwritten throughout, mainly in "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script, with other text in "headless" Tibetan dbu med (Ume) script. A text in several sections and with no title page. Long folios folded and stitched. Red card and cloth cover. An additional folded sheet of modern paper with notes. This is a mika text, a text for rituals to counteract the effect of malicious gossip (mika).

Extent: One book consisting of 36 folded folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: The book is 30.5 x 10cm. Each folio is 60 cm x 10 cm.

Condition of original material: Card and cloth cover stained and torn. Staining throughout from usage. Some water damage and ink smudging but the text is mainly legible throughout.

Custodial history: The older material has been handed down from father to son for at least four generations.

Arrangement: All the material is stored in the prayer room (not seen) and was brought out to be measured and digitised. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
