དཔར་ཤིང

A small wooden birchwood block, carved with figures and symbols, used for making imprints of into tantric ritual offerings made from tsampa (barley dough). This particular dough mould is only used for one ceremony, giving alms and offerings to bad spirits, and each symbol and figure is separately pressed into dough.

Extent: One wooden dough mould.Size and dimensions of original material: 13 cm long, 6 cm wide, 3 cm deep.

Condition of original material: Darkened through usage.

Custodial history: The older material has been handed down from father to son for at least four generations.

Arrangement: All the material is stored in the prayer room (not seen) and was brought out to be measured and digitised. It is kept in boxes when travelling.
