དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on modern paper. Written in "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen ) script. A text for a ritual to remove obstacles for people over 60 years old ལོ་རྒན་གྲུག་བཅུའི་སྐག་གྱུར་བཞུགས་སོ། or more correctly as ལོ་རྒན་དྲུག་ཅུའི་སྐག་གྱུར་བཞུགས་སོ། ལོ་རྒན old, old person དྲུག་ཅུ 60 སྐག་གྱུར obstacle removal.

Extent: One unbound book consisting of nine folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 36 cm x 8 cm.

Condition of original material: Final page written in biro.

Custodial history: The older material has been handed down from father to son for at least four generations. This particular pecha has been copied by the current owner.

Arrangement: All the material is stored in the prayer room (not seen) and was brought out to be measured and digitised. It is kept in boxes when travelling. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question has been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
