དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. in "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. The cover is very dark cover so the title text is hard to read. This is an offering to the 100 deities who reside in Ganden, a Buddhist heaven, a pure joyous land occupied by Buddhas and Boddhisatvas. A well known Gelukpa text ༄༅། །དགའ་ལྡན་ལྷ་བརྒྱ་མ་བཞུགས་སོ།།.

Extent: One book consisting of two folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 23 cm x 15 cm, folding to 23 cm x 7.5 cm.

Condition of original material: Darkened through age, staining and some paper damage.

Arrangement: Loose texts kept in the prayer room in a cardboard box. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
