དཔར་ཤིང་

A large wooden printing block. Carved on one side only with three separate carvings. The two carvings at either end of the block are designed to be printed on to paper or cloth, inked with a soot and water solution. One is a demon figure with feet chained, the other an animal, probably a yak. The central carving may well be "printed" into dough to make figures used in tantric rituals. These dough impressions are primarily used in ransom effigy / exorcism rites.
