A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. No title page but the title is the first line of text. A prayer, invitation or invocation for Dorje Chenmo, a powerful local village deity. The text calls for Dorje Chenmo to possess the body of the village medium (wylie la bdag). Dorje Chenmo is one of three sisters who are local deities. She is specifically associated with Rinchen Zangpo, the great translator of many Buddhist texts into Tibetan and a powerful lama who converted her to Buddhism. She is the protector of all the monasteries he established, including Tabo in Spiti, Khorchag in Purang etc. Commonly invoked in Tabo, Sumra, and Shelkar in Kinnaur. ༄༅། །མ་ཙིག་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཆེན་མོའི་གསོལ་ཀ་འདོད་དོན་མྱུར་འགུགས་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགསོ།.
Extent: One unbound book consisting of four folios. Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 35 cm x 7.5cm. Condition of original material: Good condition for its age. Light staining.Arrangement: Texts and ritual objects kept in boxes in the prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date
