དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. An auspicious prayer text for prosperity, good fortune, happiness, success and good luck for all sentient beings. Performed as the last element of large ritual ceremonies ༄༅། །བཀྲ་ཤིས་བརྗོད་གསོལ་བཞུགསྷྱོ།.

Extent: One unbound book consisting of three folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 53 cm x 10 cm.

Condition of original material: Light staining and paper edge damage. Text fully legible.

Arrangement: Texts and ritual objects kept in boxes in the prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
