དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. A sorcery text, composed by Padmasambhava. Perhaps a ritual for making malign tsampa dough figures as offerings. ༄༅། །དུས་གསུམ་མཁྱེན་པ་པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་གྱི་མཛད་པ་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཟོར་མདོས་བཞུགསོ།.

Extent: One unbound book consisting of three folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 55.5. cm x 10 cm.

Condition of original material: Staining and paper edge damage. Text fully legible.

Arrangement: Texts and ritual objects kept in boxes in the prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
