A handwritten Tibetan text (pecha) on thick almost leather like, handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. A funereal ritual conducted for the deceased when the body is left for sky burial or interred. The title mentions the thread cross (Tib. མདོས Wylie mdos) used as a ritual exorcism and demon entrapment device. ༄༅། །དུར་འདོན་པའི་མདོས་དང་གསེར་རག་གི་མདོ་བཞུགསོ།.
Extent: One book consisting of seven folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 58 cm x 12 cm, folding to 29 cm x 12 cm.
Condition of original material: Cover discoloured through age and usage. Pages also lightly stained throughout. Some pages damaged. Text fully legible.
Arrangement: Texts and ritual objects kept in boxes in the prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
