དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. A purification and liberation ritual conducted after a death, perhaps including the ritual use of bones, post-cremation. ༄༅། །བྱང་གྲོལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་གཙུག་གཏོར་གྱི་བགྲུབས་ཐབས་སྙིང་པོ་གསལ་བྱེད་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགསོ།་.

Extent: One book consisting of thirty folios. Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 56 cm x 10 cm, folding to 29 cm x 10 cm.Condition of original material: Cover discoloured through age and usage. Pages also stained throughout. Some pages damaged. Text mostly fully legible.Arrangement: Texts and ritual objects kept in boxes in the prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date
