A handwritten Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. An astrological text for calculating details of an individual’s life from their date and time of birth. ༄༅། །རྨེ་བའི་སྐྱེས་རྩི་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ།.
Extent: One book consisting of seventeen folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 46 cm x 10 cm, folding to 23 cm x 10 cm.
Condition of original material: Cover heavily discoloured through age and usage. Pages also stained throughout. Text fully legible.
Arrangement: Texts and ritual objects kept in boxes in the prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
