དཔེ་ཆ

A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. There is no title page but this is the text for a ritual to turn back the harmful effects of gossip / slander / malicious gossip (Tib. མི་ཁ་ Wylie mi kha).

Extent: One unbound book consisting of seven folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 39.5 cm x 7 cm.

Condition of original material: Slightly darkened through age and usage. Some page edges worn.

Arrangement: All the material is kept within the owner's prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
