A handwritten Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. Bound into a brown cloth cover. In "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. No title page. This is a liberation text. A short ritual saving the life of an animal due to be slaughtered. The animal is beautified, its ears decorated with red coloured string and its skin painted red. Title is perhaps ཚེ་ཐར་བཞུགས་སོ།.

Extent: One book consisting of four folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 46 cm x 6.5 cm, folding to 23 cm x 6.5 cm.

Condition of original material: Staining on many pages. Some red marks. Text fully legible.

Arrangement: All the material is kept within the owner's prayer room (not seen). The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
