A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. Handwritten in "headless" Tibetan dbu med (Ume) script. A text for a ritual for the Lord of the Earth / Earth god (Tib.ས་བདག Wylie. sa bdag) Performed to prevent annoying the Earth Lord, when building the foundations for houses and disturbing the earth. ས་བདག་སྙིང་སྡུའི་བཞུགས་སོ། perhaps better as ས་བདག་སྙིང་བསྡུས་བཞུགས་སོ།.
Extent: One unbound book consisting of seven folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 42.5 cm x 7.5 cm.
Condition of original material: Light staining through age and usage. One inserted folio on thinner damaged paper. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
