A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. Handwritten in "headless" Tibetan dbu med (Ume) script. A ritual concerned with the recently deceased. རོ་ལམ་དམར་ཁྲིད་བཞུགས་སོ། རོ་ལམ means the path of the dead body དམར་ཁྲིད means essential instruction.
Extent: One unbound book consisting of twelve folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 26.5 cm x 7.5 cm.
Condition of original material: Text stained and darkened through age and usage. One folio insert on smaller modern paper and in Uchen script. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
