A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. In Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script. A text for a ritual for the Lord of the Earth / Earth god (ས་བདག) Used when building the foundations for houses and consequently disturbing the earth. A ritual performed to prevent annoying the Earth Lord, the ritual requests it leaves the location ས་བདག་སྒྲོག་འགྲོལ་སྟོང་བརྒྱུད་པའི་ཉི་ཤུ་རྩ་ལྔ་ནས་བསྡུས་པ་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཟབ་མོ་བཞུགས་སོ། (perhaps more correctly as …ས་བདག་འདོན་གྲོལ་སྟོང་བརྒྱུད་པའི་ཉི་ཤུ་རྩ་ལྔ་ནས་བསྡུས་པ་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཟབ་མོ་བཞུགས་སོ།).
Extent: One unbound book consisting of two folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 45 cm x 8 cm.
Condition of original material: Good condition for its age.
Arrangement: All material is kept in the prayer room. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
