A handwritten unbound Tibetan text (pecha) on handmade paper. Handwritten in "headed" Tibetan dbu chen (Uchen) script in black and red ink. A ritual to remove illness, infectious plague (རིམས་ནད) or epidemic through the power of the protector deity Palden Lhamo (དཔལ་ལྡན་ལྷ་མོ) also known as Sri Devi or Mahakali དཔལ་ལྡན་ལྷ་མོའི་ལས་མཐའ་རིམས་ནད་བཟློག་པའི་ཆོ་ག་བཞུགས་སོ། ལས་མཐའ means last deeds or karma བཟློག means finish or remove ཆོ་ག means formula.
Extent: One unbound book consisting of seven folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Each folio is 42.5 cm x 8 cm.
Condition of original material: Good condition for its age. Some staining through usage. Some damage to page corners but the text is fully legible throughout.
Arrangement: All material is kept in the prayer room. The precise country of origin is unknown. However it is almost certain that the original text was created in Tibet, though the specific material in question may have been copied locally in Spiti (India) at a later date.
