Bhagavat gita dealt with the conversation and upadesa of Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battle field for fought against their relations and teachers. It also gives various advices for living. This manuscript has first to eigteeth chapter with 566 stanzas. மகாபாரதத்தின் தொடக்கப் போரில் அர்ச்சுனன் எதிரணியில் இருப்பவர்கள் உறவினர்களாக இருப்பதால் தயங்க, அவனின் தேரோட்டியான கிருஷ்ணன் போர் தர்மத்தில் உறவின் முறை ஆகாதென விளக்கும் அர்ச்சுனன்-கிருஷ்ணன் ஆகிய இருவரின் உரையாடல்களே பகவத் கீதை. இப்பகவத் கீதையில் மனித வாழ்க்கைக்குத் தேவையான யோகம் மற்றும் தத்துவம் சார்ந்த கருத்துக்கள் மிகுந்துள்ளன. இச்சுவடி, முதலாவது சோகவத்தியாயம் தொடங்கி பதினெட்டாவது சகலவுபநிஷத்துப் பிரதிபந்தன மோக்ஷயோகவத்தியாயம் இறுதியாக மொத்தம் 566 பாடல்களால் அமைந்துள்ளது.
