மதுரைத்துரை அம்மானை

This manuscript Maduraiveeran Ammanai dealt with the story of Madurai veeran. was the son of Raja of kasi, He was brought up by a low caste family and married the daughter of Bommana Nayakan.He served in the court of Nayak Kingdom. He loved and married a girl of royal family because of that he was killed by thieves. Now he is worshipped as god. காசி மன்னனின் மகன் மதுரைவீரன்.  இவனே மதுரைத்துரை ஆவான். இவன் மாலை சுற்றிப் பிறந்ததால் காட்டில் விடப்பட்டான்.  தாழ்ந்த குலத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒருவன் இவனை எடுத்து வளர்த்தான்.  இவ்வீரன் சித்திகள் பல பெற்று பொம்மன நாயக்கன் மகள் பொம்மியைக் காந்தர்வத்தால் மணந்தான்.  பின்னர் திருச்சி விசயரங்க சொக்கலிங்க வேந்தரிடம் பணியமர்ந்து விதி வசத்தால் திருமலை நாயக்கர் பணிப்பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்து கள்ளர்களால் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டு தெய்வமாகின்றான் என்பதான கதையை அம்மானை வடிவில் பாடப்பெற்றதே மதுரைவீரன் அம்மானை ஆகும்.
