மாக மாத புராணம்

It has 1 -23 chapters in mahamadha purana and followed by 1 – 5 chapters in the title of Panch Athiyayam. மாசி மாதத்தில் நீராடுவது மகாஸ்நானம். இந்த நீராட்டு விழா பற்றிய கதைகளைக் கூறுவது மகாபுராணம் அல்லது மகாமாத புராணம் ஆகும். மாசி மாதம் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் வைகறையில் எழுந்து காவிரி போன்ற புதுப்புனலில் நீராடும்போது ஓதப்பட்ட நூலாக இது அமைந்துள்ளது. மாகமாத புராணத்தின் 1-23ஆவது அத்தியாயம் வரையும், அதனைத் தொடந்து பஞ்ச அத்தியாயம் என்ற தலைப்பில் 1-5 அத்தியாயங்களும் கொண்டதாக இச்சுவடி அமைந்துள்ளது.
