Praising songs on Lord Siva is called twelve thirumuraikal. The first seven thirumurai’s are called Devaram. In this manuscript has the fifth thirumurai of thirugnana sambanthar and appar. சைவ சமயக் கடவுளான சிவபெருமான் மீது பாடப் பெற்ற பன்னிரு திருமுறைகளில் முதல் ஏழு திருமுறைகள் தேவாரம் ஆகும். இச்சுவடியில் திருஞானசம்பந்தர் பாடிய முதல் திருமுறை தொடங்கி அப்பர் பாடிய ஐந்தாம் திருமுறை வீரட்டானம் திருத்தாண்டகம் வரை உள்ள திருப்பதிகங்கள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன.
