Log Book: Stellar ephemeris for Arequipa for out-of-focus work

Description of a program to carry out out-of-focus photometry of southern stars. The bulk of the book consists of a list of stars, giving their designations, rise times and other basic data, along with plate numbers on which they were recorded. A hand-written essay, titled "Out-of-focus Work on Southern Stars", describes the methodology to be followed to carry out this program. The essay is unsigned, but is dated 1912 April. Reference is made of "scale stars" and "standard stars". Several loose pages with notes found in the book. On one is written: "Instructions and Ephemeris for out-of-focus work at Arequipa". This is followed by a three-page typed essay, titled "Out-of-focus work", describing the apparatus to be used and procedure to be followed, to capture the required data. A single page contains a list of stars and the number of observations made on each star. This list is described as "Successful Obs. of Stars for Photovisual Magnitudes". On the reverse is written: "Prof King's List for obtaining plates", which is initialled, possibly by John S. Paraskevopoulos. Another loose page is a type-written list of "Abbreviation of Names of Constellations - Recommended by the Committee of the International Astronomical Union at the meeting held in Rome in May, 1922".
