Title on cover front: "24-inch / Variables - Magellanic Clouds - Miscellenea / No. 4/1940". This logbook details several photographic programs with the 24-inch Bruce Doublet telescope. For each program, basic instructions are given, followed by a list of the field numbers and their plate centres. Many of these entries are followed by pencilled-in plate numbers, as the fields are photographed. Most programs are on the Magellanic Clouds, including "Magellanic Clouds" (1934 - 1945), "Borders of SMC" (1942 June 23), "The margins of Small Magellanic Cloud", "The tail of the Small Magellanic Cloud", and "Blue-Red-Blue program on centres in SMC & LMC". The Low-Latitude MWF and High-Latitude WMF (HLF) programs are continued, as are several initially called "Milky way Fields 199a, 199b" and later called "Scutum Cloud" ( 1949 June 15). A separate program was conducted on "Variable star fields for fainter variables". The book is in poor physical condition. n/a. Extent: 1 volume containing 24 pages.
