[Personal diaries and notes of Komal Kothari]

This is a notebook containing notes and personal writings of Komal Kothari. The notes in this notebook are a collection of citations and thoughts geared towards a publication on traditional Hindu court paintings of the Rajputana, Himachal and Punjab courts. Books mentioned among the notes include, A. Coomaraswamy's Rajput Paniting, Louis Harrap's Folk Art: Social roots of Arts and PeKhanov's Art and Social life among others. The notebook contains a long draft of an introduction to the above mentioned future publication which includes a schematic chart on distribution and developments in the said traditions of painting. Brief chapter outlines follow covering topics like "Rajput schools" and "Subject matter of Rajput painting". The notebook also contains a long list of 115 paintings, with their physical descriptions, to be used in the publication.
