[Personal diaries and notes of Komal Kothari]

This is a notebook containing notes and personal writings of Komal Kothari. The first few pages contain lists of districts to be visited for a photography project, a list of objects to be photographed and sketches of costumes of performers. The notebook has also been used as a daily journal for 1979. 'Phutkar Notes' or random notes on 'Sivana' temple have been made in the notebook by Jivraj Verma. In the following pages are notes on ethnographic research on musical instruments along with sketches, on Meenakari at Nathdwara and on the rituals and songs of the Kumhar community. The last pages contain a list of photographs, categorized by content, place and a serial number, and a list of people that Kothari wrote to about the photography field trip. Physical characteristics: A handmade notebook with red cloth cover and yellow coloured pages containing handwritten notes with blue and black ink.
