This file contains the photographs of an evening outdoor recording session of a performance by musicians and Bhopas of Pabuji, organised in the campus of Rupayan Sansthan, Borunda, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The performers are Bankaram, Jiyaram and Kusalaram. While all three sing and narrate the epic, Bankaram and Jiyaram play the lute and Kusalaram, the crossdressed performer, dances. Pabuji, a local deity, is the protagonist of the epic of Pabuji which is narrated by Bhopa priests with the help of a painted scroll known as the Par. The performative narration consists of singing, playing the Ravanhatha, a bowed lute, dancing and pointing at the relevant scenes on the Par with the help of the bow of Ravanhartha.
