The photographs grouped within this file is a documentation of a religious and tribal fair, held near Baneshwar lake, formed at the confluence of river Soma, Jhakad and Mahi, in Dungarpur, Rajasthan. This fair is mostly attended by members of the Bhil tribe and other communities from western Rajasthan. Baneshwar lake is considered holy by Bhils and various other communities of western Rajasthan for performing death rituals and rites. The photographs depict the landscape of the venue of the fair, religious and ritual activities being performed by the people, members of Bhil community at the fair, market area and various shops selling various utility items, jewellery and musical instruments, and also musical and other performances happening during the fair.
