Ameḥ tau phre

Single-text palm-leaf manuscript. Red lac. covers. Gilded leaves. A collection of epistles submitted and responses given by Pathama Moṅḥ thoṅ Charā tau, a chief monastic advisor of King Badon-min (r. 1782-1819) to the queries posed by the king. Pathama Moṅḥ thoṅ Charā tau held the appointment as the head of the court monastic establishment from 1787 to c. 1812. The documents in the collection date between 1783 and 1806. Extent: One incomplete bundle of 248 inscribed palm-leaf folios (ff. caṃ [3] - rū [251]). Two red lac. covers. Condition of original material: Incomplete bundle, approximately 80+ palm-leaf folios (ff. ka to cau and re ff) missing.
