Óbitos de Forros e Livres , 1750-1799

This volume records the burials of freed (forro) and free individuals registered in the Church of Santo Antônio de Sá, Itaboraí-RJ, as well as some testaments that mention enslaved individuals (the donation of enslaved individuals; their manumission; and estimates of their value). Entries date from 18 Mar 1750 through 22 Aug 1799 and were signed by the following clergy: Vicar José Pereira Távora; Francisco Ferreira de Azevedo; and Coadjutor Antonio Pereira Jorge de Sevilha. It has no opening or closing charters. The volume includes some burials of Portuguese individuals as well as the testaments of Capitão Mor Francisco Antonio Leão and Father Manoel da Costa Moreira. One unidentified testament refers to a request for honors (mercê) from D. Maria I of Portugal. African "nations"/ethnonyms mentioned: Guiné (Guinea), Angola, Benguela, Mina, and Camundongo.
