1. Livro de Óbitos de Escravos e Livres, 1729-1752

The volume contains burial records of enslaved and free people from the parish of Paraíba dating from 27 March 1729 through 10 January 1752. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Manoel Vianna, Francisco Azevedo, Francisco Barreto de Neves, and Luiz de Soveral Coelho. African ethnonyms mentioned: Benguela and Angola. Burial locations mentioned include the cemetery of the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição e São Pedro e São Paulo da Parahyba, the Capella da Parahibuna, the Capella de Nossa Senhora do Bom Serrat (Monte Serrat?). In some entries, the cause of death was recorded. There is no opening charter; the closing charter is dated 28 Dec 1757. Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 30 folios.
