The opening charter was signed on 29 Oct 1829 by Canon Vicar General Narcizo (?), while Manoel Machado da Motta signed the closing charter on 14 Nov 1829, por Manoel Machado da Motta. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Manoel Joaquim Catarino, Father José Ramos de Carvalho, Vicar Tito Pereira de Carvalho, and Commissioned Vicar Bernardo Antonio Lima de Velasco. The volume documents marriages of Portuguese individuals; weddings celebrated in the oratory of the fazenda (agricultural property) of Capitão Mor Francisco Marinho Machado; an enslaved bride owned by one Ensign Joaquim Vicente de Velasco (fl 28f); as well as the marriages of Lieutenant Egas Munis da Silva, Lieutenant Colonel Joaquim Antão (?) Andrade, and Lieutenant Francisco Manoel de Araújo. Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 144 numbered, sequential folios with no cover.
