The Quran with Glosses in Arabic and Soninke

Transliterated title: Araabukaŋo aniŋ Soninkekaŋo Alkuraana Fasaro.

The manuscript is an old copy of the Quran. According to the owner, it is about two hundred years old, and was written during the time when Soninke was the language of Muslim scholars, who were spreading Islam and teaching Mandinka students in the Casamance area.

Custodial history: The manuscript owner inherited it from his brother (Imam Nimbaly Thiam) after his death, who had inherited it from their father. Their father was born in the region of Sedhiou.
