Prayers against Misfortune

Transliterated title: Tankandiraŋ Maasibo Duwaa.

The manuscript is an original copy written in classical Arabic dealing with tawḥīd (oneness of God). It includes prayers to thwart disaster and misfortune. The manuscript was written by Malick Samate, the owner’s grandfather.

Custodial history: The owner inherited it from his father after his death.

Extent and format of original material: 18 pages.

Physical characteristics: Unbound manuscript. Due to water and ink stains, some text may be difficult to read. There are signs of water damage on some pages. Small papers are used in this manuscript.
