Prince Madrais Alibasa Manuscript No. 28B

The manuscript No.28B is written in a bundle of folios. The size is 34 x 21.5 cm. The condition of paper is brittle, perforated and yellowing. The ink penetrates to the reverse side, but the writing is still readable. In this manuscript, Prince Madrais explains historical facts about his life in Dutch colonial era and his teaching about God and rules of Sunda religion. The constitution was composed based on Dutch’ thought which actually is not suitable with our custom and tradition. When Madrais was examined in court, he was asked about his faith. He explained God’s decree and was firm on his stand, although the witness in the court incriminating him. Finally, he was exhiled to Merauke. There were also some kill trials to him so he was always on guard then he asked his wife to bring his writing to Cigugur so the content can be shared to others. His writing is intended not only for his followers but also for all to awake the humanity consciousness.
