An undecorated (Dharma) conch shell. Chö dung ཆོས་དུང (Wylie chos dung). Conches are used to announce the arrival of Lama Mani or the start of their narrative performances. 17.5 cm long. Creation dates: Probably late 19th Century. Unknown date but over 100 years old. Custodial history: An item from Tibet but purchased in Nepal by the owner and her late husband after fleeing Tibet.
