Digital copies of photographs from the Chihra-yi Abd al-Javad Armakan Collection, Abadan. The photographs date from 1305H-1320H [1926-1942]. Unfortunately, information about the provenance, context and subjects of the photographs is unknown, and so the information in this catalogue is necessarily incomplete.
The 6 images here are taken from a family album; the identity of the family in question is unknown. The photographs are black and white individual and group portraits. Five of the photographs depict men posing next to automobiles; the remaining photograph shows a man and a woman posing with a hookah [water pipe].
The original prints were produced from gelatin negatives, and measure 15 x 10cm.
