Aims and objectives
Iranian social-political dominance during the Qizilbashs in East Georgia (1735-1749) directly relates to Nadir-Shah’s rulership (1736-1747) and reflects his military and social policy towards Georgia and the Caucasus.
Historical and social-political peculiarities of the Qisilbash period are reflected in Georgian and Persian narrative sources as well as in Persian and Georgian-Persian historical documents. The sources belong to the head of the dynasty Nader-Shah, the commanders of Kartli and Georgian kings.
The project aims at cataloguing and digitising the unique Persian and Georgian-Persian documents preserved in the National Centre of Manuscripts, still remaining unknown to the scholarly society.
